Today was a big roller coaster ride. I started off the day with a +4 buyin session which was cool but the last 2 sessions both ended up breakeven where I swung up and down 3+ buyins several times. I didn't feel like I played great but I also don't think I really tilted which is important especially while playing 6 max because of how many opportunities there are to spew. I'm falling behind on my hands goal for the rest of the month because i've been 9-10 tabling 6 max (only got in ~5500 hands today) but hopefully I can just run really hot to make up for it.

I also booked my flight to Vegas this summer for the WSOP. I'm going from June 29 - July 9th and I got a really good deal on hotel at the Rio. I'm planning on playing the 5k 6 max and the 10k main and then just relaxing and hanging out with friends the rest of the time. I'll probably be spending most of my time at O'Sheas, i'm pretty sure that is my favorite place other then the Rhino in Vegas. It doesn't get much better then $10 pitchers and beer pong all night.

  1. Sup Kush,

Just wanted to ask you. What's your thoughts on your 3betting strategy? Compared to some regs you have a pretty low 3bet rate. Do you generally think 3betting as a bluff is not a good idea?

Also how often do you put effort into table selecting? Besides the initial opening of the 16 tables, do you usually refresh your tables and leave bad ones half way through, at all, or not worry about it.

    Pz.

  2. LOL @ that hand...

We'll have to throw down in vegas, we got a house full of FR nits there all summer. I hear exactly what you are sayin about o'sheas too... the two times i've been there, I raped at pong. Not to mention the time me and vizer whipped stinger... i'm sure about the only thing I could actually beat him at.

    $20/cup beer pong ftw.

  3. your favorite place is the Rhino? Blasphemy. Treasures has $1 domestic beer from 4-6pm and the girls there are not nearly as aggro as at the Rhino. I wish I could afford to go to the WSOP this year and show you the ropes. Have to cross my fingers I win a seat again.

  4. Barack - That is something I usually go pretty in depth on with my students. I probably have a lower 3 bet rate then most regs because i'm more comfortable taking flops. I usually try to game select a little at the start, but then I will generally stay at tables unless they get really bad/infested with shortstackers.

DR- We'll have to meet up for sure, I love playing pong. I used to play all the time and was pretty good but I barely get around to it anymore.

  5. Kush, is it possible to explain your reasoning in that hand. I actually find those min-raises kinda tilting by fish because they are often either AA/KK or trash and I usually call/fold flop when missing. Do you typically give them much credit?
